Math Rush for Windows Phone 8 released

Math Rush for Windows Phone 8 has been released and can be downloaded here.

This app contains several exciting features:

  • Consistent UI experience similar to MathRush for Windows 8.
  • Ability to share results from within the app.
  • Ability to rate and review the app from within the app.
  • Leader board and results pages to show your performance relative to the world.

In keeping with our habit of full disclosure:

  • This app has been written entirely using C# and XAML
  • The cloud backend has been provided by Azure Mobile Services.
  • In fact this app shares its backend database with MathRush for Windows 8.  So both the phone app and Windows app users should see results from players on both apps.
As always we are happy to hear back any feedback: theindussoil@live.com

More about MathRush v2 for Windows 8

Earlier this week we released the second edition of MathRush for Windows 8.  You can download it here.

This version contains various new features and improvements:

  • Overall UI improvements and consistent visual theme across all app pages
  • New pages for Help, About
  • New Page for Leaderboard to view your overall game stats and infor for all top players
  • More information on the Results page
  • Live tiles that notify you about new game highscores around the world
We intend this blog to be both an experience journal about the development of our apps as well as a way to tell more about the end-user features we add into our apps.

For full transparency, here is some more developer focused information about this app:
  • This app is written entirely in C# and uses the XAML framework for all UI
  • We made use of Visual Studio designer, Blend and some raw XAML editing to create the UI
  • The cloud backend has been provided by Azure Mobile Services
We have also increased our online presence and are always looking for feedback (and encouragement).  We can be found at the following locations:
We hope you like the app!

Math Rush V2 coming soon

We are super excited by the response that we have gotten for the first release of Math Rush.  Great download numbers, great engagement level from users and great high-scores too.  Honestly during our test runs, none of us were able to cross 2000 and the highest score right now stands at 4960.  Still waiting for that elusive 5k winner!

Some more interesting stats:
  • 80% of the top 20 scores are coming from the 20% most recent players. This means our new players are setting the bar higher and higher
  • 50% of the 500 most recent games have come from the 50% oldest players.  This means that even among the earlier players, the engagement level is quite high.

We are hard at work to get the second release of Math Rush out.  We have added some cool features and are excited to receive all the great feedback from you guys.
